What are the exact dimensions of The SportScreen?

The 10ft SportScreens have the following dimensions:

  • Unit width bracket to bracket (128.5 inches)
  • Screen width (124 inches)
  • Screen height (120 inches)

The 16ft SportScreens have the following dimensions:

  • Unit width bracket to bracket (191.5 inches)
  • Screen width (187 inches)
  • Screen height (120 inches)

*all dimensions provided are the total measurements not mounting measurements

Custom screen dimensions vary.

If you have tall spaces we offer 2 ft extensions for your screen size to accommodate for additional height.

Does my garage door have to be closed for The SportScreen to function properly?

No, The SportScreen works independently from your garage door! In fact, most prefer to use The SportScreen with the garage in the up position allowing for an open atmosphere inside your garage. The SportScreen is designed to protect your garage contents and vehicles as well as a closed garage door.

Is The SportScreen available in retail locations?

You can purchase a SportScreen at any Pro Hockey Life and select Source for Sports.

Where does The SportScreen ship to?*

The SportScreen ships within Canada, the USA and internationally. Please note free shipping is only available for orders over $99 in the USA and Canada.

What warnings or precautions do I need to take when using The SportScreen?

  • When shooting pucks, ensure that everyone in the area is aware and paying attention.
  • Supervise children using The SportScreen, especially during the lowering and raising processes.
  • Prevent children from chasing rebounding balls and pucks into the street by supervising them during use.
  • Ensure no one is touching or holding onto The SportScreen during lowering or raising to avoid pinching or injury.
  • Prevent people or objects from hanging or suspending from The SportScreen to avoid damage or harm, even though the brackets are rated to 300 lbs.
  • Refrain from shooting pucks or balls if anyone is standing less than 2 feet behind the screen to avoid injury.
  • Refer to the installation manual and videos, as The SportScreen Ltd. assumes no liability for improper installation or injuries.
  • Clear the area of objects before rolling down The SportScreen.
  • Ensure those shooting pucks are aware of their surroundings to prevent injury to people or pets.
  • Avoid rebounding pucks off metal nets, as they can damage property, vehicles, or harm people or pets. We recommend using our targets (Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer & Baseball).

What is you refund/return policy?

We are confident you will love The SportScreen, but if you need to return your product, we try to make it as easy as possible. View our Return/Refund Policy.

Does The SportScreen sell refurbished units?

No, The SportScreen does not sell refurbished units. All SportScreens are brand new. We do our best to pack boxes tightly however sometimes scratches or dents can occur during shipping. Please contact our team if you have any additional concerns.

I have lights and/or decorations already mounted to my garage, can I still install The SportScreen?

The SportScreen projects 5″ from each door jamb. It also projects 7″ out from the front of the jamb depending on where it is placed and its total width projecting out is 16″. Please make the proper measurements to ensure that your garage and light fixtures can accommodate The SportScreen. Versatile Mounting Brackets may be purchased and can project up to 25″.

If a standard bracket is not feasible, we will work with you to create a custom solution for your home. You can contact us at info@thesportscreen.ca and send a few pictures of where you plan on mounting your SportScreen and we can offer some suggestions.

The SportScreen is not hanging evenly, what can I do?

If The SportScreen is not hanging evenly, pull on the higher end when the curtain is in the rolled up position, until the curtain is even. This technique can also be applied if The SportScreen gets stuck due to buildup of ice and snow in the mesh.

I have a unique space, can I still install The SportScreen?

Depending on how “unique” the design is, The SportScreen may still be able to be installed. We have options to customize units based on length and height. We also have options to purchase additional Versatile Mounting Brackets to mount The SportScreen over surfaces that need clearance such as garage rails. Please contact us at 1-855-727-3360 if you have any questions.

SportScreen installation instructions can be found on the Support tab of our website.

If I leave The SportScreen mounted outside during the winter, will it be affected by weather?

The SportScreen is designed to withstand the harshest weather and temperatures and can be used year-round. We do however recommend removing snow buildup from the top of your SportScreen to prevent any sagging and to ensure proper function. Please refrain from using sharp objects to clear snow and ice, as this could possibly damage the mesh.

How do I get power to The SportScreen?

The SportScreen power cord is on both sides of the screen. You can drill through your mounting surface or into the garage to the closest standard 110W power outlet. It is also possible to plug the screen into an inside/outside outlet.

Can I mount The SportScreen to walls or ceilings?

You can mount The SportScreen to walls or ceilings. The brackets that are supplied with our product are universal; they can be mounted either by the wall or ceiling. These brackets offer 5.5 inches of clearance behind The SportScreen when mounted to a wall. If mounting to a ceiling this can vary depending on how far off the wall you mount the brackets.

To ensure the screen functions properly, please allow for 8”-12” of clearance from the back of the screen to what you are looking to protect.

If you require additional clearance, Versatile Mounting Brackets can be purchased. The SportScreen can be mounted to ceilings that are between 62” and 115”, if you have taller ceilings than this we offer 2ft extensions for your screen to accommodate for additional height. Please note that The SportScreen requires at least 1 full revolution of screen material around the headroll tube in order to function properly.

I have no power source available where I plan to mount The SportScreen, what can I do?

Manual, hand crank roll up options are available for The SportScreen if power is not readily available. The hand crank versions come equipped with a handle crank system that conveniently rolls out of the way. This version of The SportScreen rolls up in about 30 seconds. Contact us at 1-855-727-3360 for details.

How long does it take to install The SportScreen?

Installation of The SportScreen is a two person job and should take approximately 1 hour. SportScreen installation instructions can be found on the Support tab of our website.

Can I purchase a replacement screenS if mine wear over time?

Yes, you can purchase replacement screens for your SportScreen on the Accessories & Parts page of our website.

Does The SportScreen bow slightly once installed?

Some bowing is normal in the 16ft units however this can be managed by tightening the Tek screws in the middle of the head roll tube. If the bowing persists, additional Tek Screws can be added 1-2” left or right of their current location.

If option 1 and 2 have been exhausted please contact our team and send images of the deflection so that we can take a closer look at the bowing to determine if there is something more we can suggest.

What is your warranty policy?

The SportScreen products are guaranteed for two years from the original retail purchase date. The SportScreen is warrantied against defects in materials and workmanship. We do not warranty The SportScreen for use with golf balls. If looking to purchase products for golf, please refer to The SportScreen Golf Studio products.
